Like to drink water? Raft, fish, et al? Do this - soon!
Friends of Confluence West -
Does your community depend in part or entirely on water from National Forest headwaters? Do you enjoy drinking water? Would you prefer that billionaires not build mega-mansions in the areas where you fish, hunt, hike, camp, forage, bird and wildlife watch, and raft?
If you answered YES to any of those questions, public lands headwater forests need your help - now!
After the House of Representatives removed 500,000 acres of public land for sale in the “Big Beautiful Bill,” Utah Senator Mike Lee added it back in, but this time to the tune of 3.3 million acres.
There are 250+ million acres eligible, including our favorite recreation spots and our nation’s largest municipal water supply. See the map
The land will be primarily sold in the first 30 days (almost as if they have buyers), and there will be NO public comment, meaning our time to stop this is now.
If President Trump is able to remove the protection of our monuments, then they anticipate an additional 13.5 million acres being sold.
The Senate plans on voting anytime before July 4th, so we must act NOW. Here are some scripts. BONUS - The list of Congressional Leg Directors (better than contacting interns.)

Many excellent NGOs, water utilities, tribes, Nations, communities, and public agencies are working to protect rivers and forests in the American West from the (sometimes overwhelming) challenges climate change poses. We are proud to partner with many of them.
Why support Confluence West? Over the past 17 years, we've learned that Long-term, equitable solutions require dedicated and talented people from every sector, issue area, perspective, expertise, and culture to bring their part of the elephant, their truth, to the table.
We build and lead projects that connect diverse decision-makers who, in turn, create science- and evidence-based campaigns. Check out our work! Or, email Kimery.
