Source to System - One Water

The project short story: How do we connect all of the source-to-system dots to make One Water projects more resilient to all the challenges we know are coming?

The goal, strategy, and outcomes for the project:

Goal: One Water becomes an effective management model when planning, regulation, governance, financing, data, and investment in built and natural landscapes can work across the boundaries that divide the physical system.

Strategy: The development of DWR’s new California Water Plan and the next state administration provide an opportunity for statewide adoption. Strategy for the next federal administration: TBD.

Outcome: By 2028, the new California Water Plan incorporates source-to-system One Water recommendations, resulting in revised regulations and laws.

This work supports the larger project Getting Ready to develop policy background for adoption by the next federal administration and the incoming 2028 administrations of Western states.
